Located within the Hawthorn Innovation Hub, this project represents the third phase of a client-architect relationship spanning over 10 years. The interior spaces of the new Xero Headquarters are designed to reflect the nature of the business. Xero, a modern cloud-based accounting software company known for its global branding tagline ‘Beautiful business’.
Our scheme captures this ethos by creating beautifully detailed work settings and consolidating them into a cohesive four-level composition. It involves combining Xero’s four adjacent office spaces into a purpose-built 7000 sqm facility, accommodating 800 staff.
As architects of the base building, we capitalized on the opportunity to carve out a generous, light-filled atrium at the core of the tenancy. Formal and informal meeting areas, along with curated social spaces, were strategically arranged to foster social connection and interactivity. The central staircase, a visible centrepiece, serves as the dynamic core of the organization, facilitating movement, informal interactions, and energizing the workplace.
A series of planning workshops addressed the ever-evolving business practices, ensuring that the design met both current and future needs. Throughout the Xero Headquarters, colours and materials inspired by the Xero brand are featured, complemented by works from local artists.
